My Daily Life
Introduction:  My daily life is simple. It starts at six o’ clock in the morning and remains still I go to bed at ten at night. I have a routine for the day. I always try to follow it. But Sundays and other holidays tempt to lead go as you like life.
In the morning: I get up from bed very early in the morning. I wash my hands and feet and brush my teeth. After taking my breakfast, I sit down my lessons. I read and write and work out sums for three hours. Then I take my bath and meal. I start for my school just 8:30 a.m.
At School: Our school sits at 9 O’ clock and breaks up at 3 p.m. I listen to my teachers attentively. I abide by the rules and regulations of school.
In the afternoon: As soon as the school breaks up I come back home. After taking a light Tiffin, I run off to the field where I play with my friends for an hour or so.
In the evening: I come back just before dusk. After washing hands and feet, I sit down to prepare my lessons for three hours. Then I have my supper and go to bed shortly after ten.
Conclusion: On Sundays and other holidays, I don’t follow this routine. In those days, I help my parents in household works. Some time I visit my relative and friends. I also read story books. Frankly speaking, sometimes I spend a little more time in my games.
My aim in life
Introduction:  Every man must have some aim in life. An aimless man is like a ship without radar. In the world different men have different aim. Some aim at acquiring knowledge, some desire for money and fame.
My aim: I am still in my teens. It is rather difficult for me to choose a right aim of life. But still I have chosen me definite aim in life. It is not something new. My aim in life is to be a doctor.
Reasons for my choice: I have chosen my aim in life for more than one reason. More than seventy present of our people live in villages. Most of them live in poor huts. They are ill- fed and ill-clad. They fall an easy prey to diseases. Most of them die without any treatment. They have not enough means to go towns and cities for treatment. I want to be a doctor to do service to my countrymen who live in the villages. I shall select one of the villages as my place of work. I shall practice there. I shall have satisfaction of rendering service to the sick and disabled.
Conclusion: I have chosen my aim. Now I have been trying my utmost to realize this aim. I hope that I will be able to become successful.
Science in everyday life
Introduction: Modern age is age o science. Many inventions of science have take place in the present age. They have made our life easy and comfortable. Science has made its way almost in every walk of life.
Gifts of science in daily life: The blessing of science is many. Wherever we look we find the wonders of science. Electricity, railway, bus, tram, motor cars, ship, computer, telegraph, telephone, radio, internet, E- mail, all these are the gifts of science. Cotton mills weaves our cloths, paper mills make our paper, washing machine wash our  cloths and T.V. gives us recreations, if somebody is ill he takes medicine and under goes scanning and operation are being done unbelievably.
To a man in the city, science is almost like a faithful servant. The alarming time piece wakes    him up at any hours he likes. The electric oven prepares his tea and breakfast. The cooker cooks his food. The electric media gives him daily news. He goes to office by bus or taxi. He switches on the fan in the office and calls his friend through cell phone in another office to know how he is. After a day’s works, he goes to see a picture in a cinema hall.  When he returns home, media gives him entertainment after are likings.
Conclusions: Nothing is an unmixed blessing. Science has made life comfortable. But it has made life complex and artificial. But the benefits of science in our daily life far outnumber its ills.

Flood in Assam
Introduction: Flood is Assam’s annual problem. It is caused by heavy rain fall. When the river over flows the banks and inundates the lands on both sides, the states is called flood.
Causes of flood in Assam: Heavy rains cause flood in Assam every year. The shallow beds of the Brahmaputra and the Barak and tributaries cannot hold this excessive rain- water. As a result, flood is very common in Assam.  While canals connected with the big river can channelize the excess water to different direction; such a system is almost absent in this state. The frequent visits of floods during the rainy seasons cannot therefore be effectively prevented. The weak muddy embankments are often broken by the swift current of the torrential rivers and cause floods.
Effects: Almost all the districts in Assam come under the grip of terrible floods every year. Flood cause great damage to the people of Assam. Crops are destroyed. Houses and live stokes are washed away. The people are rendered homeless. Transport system is completely dislocated. Famine and epidemic take a heavy toll of the human lives. The suffering of the people are knows no bounds.
Rescue operation: The government rushes in relief. Army carries on rescue operations. Many international bodies like the Red Cross Society, Rotary club etc. also comes forward with help for the food victims.
Conclusion:  As floods play havoc, with life and property. Steps should be taken for the prevention of foods. Construction of dams, embankments and canals may go a long way to check the occurrence of floods. A permanent relief fund should be raised to lessen the suffering of the victims of floods.
 Friendship
Friendship is a virtue. It is a rare and sincerely true bond between two persons. Friendship normally developed between two persons of similar sentiments. When one find another person with similar ideas he or she naturally tends to come closer to the person. In course of time frequent meetings and contacts ultimately take the form of friendship.
Friendship is a blessing in case of friends who remain true to each other. But it is really difficult to find a true friend. Generally friends swarms in during prosperity and they are rarely to be found in case of adversity. So one should be very careful when one select friends. Some people come to us in disguise of friends. But they come to fulfill their own interest. When their interest is satisfied they desert. Such pretender friends do not hesitate to harm their friends and benefactors. Therefore we should not indulge in friendship with a stranger without observation of the stranger’s behavior and manner.
A true friend will remain constant companion both in prosperity and adversity. He will never desert his friend and remain ready even to die for his friend. But such true friends are rare. There are many fables on friendship. They may guide us in selecting true friend.

The Visit to a Historical Place

India is a country of rich culture and centuries of history and tradition of its own. Thus the country is full of places which are rich in tradition, are important historically, economically, politically, or sociologically. Moreover, the diversity that it presents baffles the people because the diversity is not only geographical but social and cultural as well. Thus, India attracts thousands of tourists from all around the globe.
Last year I had a chance to visit Agra with my uncle’s family. As soon as I got the invitation, I accepted it because Agra has been a great center of art and architecture during the Mughal period. It goes to the credit of Akbar to transform Agra into a great city of cultural and historical importance.
History stands testimony that the old brick fort of Sikandar Lodhi was dismantled by Akbar and a magnificent fortress of rust coloured sandstone was built. For the same reason the Fort of Agra is also known as ‘Lal Quila’. This fort was built by Akbar in AD 1565. It took 8 years to be completed. This is what Akbar’s historian Abul Fazal had recorded. But unfortunately only a few survive today and the successors of Akbar too subsequently made a few changes and additions. The Fort stands on the banks of the
river Yamuna with double walls to protect it. We also went to see the great Taj Mahal on the banks of River Yamuna. The monument is truly a wonder. It is beautifully decorated with precious and carved stones. It is built in the memory of Shah Jahan’s beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. The real tomb of the queen lies in a small room downstairs made of white and black marbles. It is really a ‘dream in marble’ as thousands of poets have attempted to describe it in many ways. Ones are speechless on seeing this great spectacle of marble. It is extremely mesmerizing. Since then Agra and Fatehpur Sikri have become my favorite place. I am now eagerly waiting for another chance to visit Agra.

Value of time
There is a saying “Time and tide waits for none”. The saying is indeed true. Time waits for none. It comes and goes. Time is absolutely unbound able. Neither money nor position can buy it. Nothing on earth can subdue or conquer it.
The most remarkable feature of time is its preciousness. Its value is unfathomable and its power is inestimable. Its potential is something which we cannot calculate. A minute is enough to win a victory. A second is enough to make you the richest man in the world. A fraction of a second can make a difference between life and death.
Every moment brings with it thousands of golden opportunities. Every minute is a store-house of ‘chances’. Therefore, we must not allow such precious time to slip away. If we do so, we allow those golden opportunities and chances to slip away too.
As we go through life, we realize for ourselves that, if there is anything in the world which will never come back,
it is time. Once time crosses into the threshold of the past, it never again returns to the ‘present’. Those who have realized this basic truth of life, never allow time to pass away unused. To utilize time fruitfully, we must take concrete steps as to how we are going to use it and what we are going to do with it.
Until and unless we set up a time-table for ourselves and make a general division of time for the various tasks and jobs at our hand, time will keep slipping away with its golden opportunities unnoticed. Unplanned living is the surest way to kill time.
Those individuals, who plan beforehand, seldom fail. They are able to start their work on time and are able to complete it in time. Having worked out every minute of the allotted time, they do not hurry. Planning and proper implementation of that always brings in success. Those who plan their living and activities seldom face heartaches, mental tensions and worries. A careful glance into the life history of successful men and women all over the world will reveal the basic truth that success is the outcome of planned utilization of time.
Therefore, if we want to succeed in life we ought to chalk out what we are going to do with the minutes, hours, days, months and years at our disposal. This is the first step to success. Secondly, work must never be postponed; tomorrow’ may never materialize. We can only be sure of the present’ which in our hands. Postponement and laziness are the ropes which strangle time. Thus, time can create us or destroy us. It all depends on how we utilize time.
Games and sport
Introduction: Sports and games are useful means of entertainment and physical activity. It helps in character building. They give us energy and strength.
Different kinds of Games and Sports: Games and Sports can be classified into three main classes- indoor, outdoor and athletics.
Games which are played within houses are called indoor games. Carom, tennis, badminton chess etc. are indoor games.
Outdoor games are those which are played in open fields. Football, cricket, hokey etc. are the most popular outdoor games in the world today.
Athletics includes running, jumping, swimming etc. of all these games and sports, athletics need more power and energy.
Benefits physical and mental: Games and Sports make our body well-constructed. They help us in our growth also. They keep us fit and gives us disease free physique. They indirectly help us to have a sound mental condition also. Games and sports give us a sound mind which influences us in every aspect of activities.
My favorite game or sport and cause of my liking it: My favorite game is the game of cricket. I enjoy the game very much in both aspect of playing and watching. This game is very exciting. Anybody cannot tell about the result of the game till the last ball is not balled or the last wicket is not out.
Conclusion: Everybody should have a habit of taking part in or exercising games and sports. This helps us in forming brotherhood among the people of the whole world.

Discipline
Introduction: Discipline means learning to obey rules. It is training in self-control, orderliness, obedience and co-operation.
Impotence of Discipline: The importance of discipline is felt in every walk of life. At school students will have to learn to obey school rules. For example, if a student arrives late to class, he disturbs the other in their works. Even in games, there must be discipline. A football team must obey its captain and rules of the game.
Similarly, discipline is utmost importance in the Army and the police force. That is why a small police or a military force is able to control a mob of thousands.
Moreover, discipline is of outmost importance in our homes. We must learn to obey our elders and facilitate in building up a healthy domestic life.
Conclusion: Thus we need discipline in every walk of life. A  Society will turn into chaos without discipline. By becoming disciplined we upload those values that make a society exist. We become disciplined only by learning to control our tempers and our selfish desires. We must learn to do what is right.
My Favorite Author
It is really difficult to find out one’s favorite author among the host of writers. However every reader finds some special interest in one particular writer. He or she may be called his favorite writer. The favorite writer is the one whom the reader loves best.
My favorite writer is A.G.Gardiner. Gardiner is a modern prose writer of England he started his carrier as a journalist. Infect he remained a journalist. His essay are so nice and full of practical wisdom that I find him the best among the writers whose writing I have the good fortune  to read.
Gardiner’s essays are on small event and incidents of everyday life. For example in his essay ‘on saying please’ he began with the incident of a humble lift-man and a passenger who refused to say ‘please’ as demanded by the lift-man. Beginning with this small incident he has observed that there is no law against ill behavior and so on.
Like the above essay there are hundreds of essays and stories which preach small but essential things of behavior in everyday life. Besides, his writing is plain, simple and easily comprehensible. For such reason I may say that A.G. Gardiner is my favorite author.
